Hair Affairs – Get the Perfect Festival Do with These Simple Tips

Fab festival style for the summer.

Her

The last thing you want to be worrying about at a summer festival is how your hair looks.

Granted, we want to look our best in any given scenario, but high-maintenance styles are not your friend when you’re spending the weekend letting your hair down in the proverbial sense.

So, we’ve paired up with hair experts Aussie to give you the lowdown on some simple styles, perfect for no-fuss fun.

Let’s Twist Again, Like We Did Last Summer

The twist is a cute way to keep your hair out of your face while moshing, while still keeping your length. Wake up in a tent with no time/facilities to wash your locks? No worries. Just take two sections of hair, either side of your face, and twist into firm strands. Use some bobby pins to pin these sections back, or for some extra festival style, opt for floral hair slides.

I Woke Up Like This

Channel your inner Beyonce and make sure your style is sorted from your first waking moment. Before you lay your head on that camp pillow, split your hair into three or more small plaits. While you don’t want to be weighed down with beauty products on a festival weekend, a travel size mousse and dry shampoo will sort you out! Use some mousse in the plaits. Sleep for as long as you can manage, given the revelry happening all around you. On waking, simply take out the plaits and hey presto! You’ve got gorgeous waves. Bonus: No brushing required for the rest of the day.

Braid Marion

This style looks quite complicated, but it’s actually pretty easy, we swear! Separate your hair into two sections; one held low on the left side of your face, the other held high on the right side. Plait from high on the right hand side towards the back of your head, and plait the other section upwards to meet it. Secure with pins. The mismatched sides save this one from looking child-like, so a little messiness is totally acceptable too!
