Lauren Conrad’s stylist reveals the exact trick to getting those beachy waves

Cathy Donohue

Unsurprisingly, the ‘undone’ look actually takes a lot of effort.

Kristin Ess, who styles Lauren Conrad’s hair, has explained how she creates those gorgeous beachy waves, and I need to perfect them for summer 2K16.

The technique, which Kristen refers to as tapping, involves both a curling iron and a flat iron.

Hair guru Kristen explains the post in detail on The Beauty Department and although it might take you a little time to perfect, the result is worth it.

You start off by using a curling iron and then, she uses a flat iron to soften the waves, achieving the effortless undone look.

Tapping can be viewed in the Instagram video below and as Kristen says, avoid excess tapping: “if you quickly tap the curl up and down the head it will soften the wave and flatten it out, just the right amount! Don’t go overboard with tapping, it’s subtle”.

Kristen recommends this as the “quickest, easiest” way to perfect a beachy wave and that’s going to be super handy first thing in the morning.
