Tiktoker @maermaer, who rocks the hair trend frequently, explained how to achieve the look.
"Mine are tied in, she uses this little tool to get them really tight on a couple strands of hair. I can put heat on them up to 400 degrees, so I blow dry my hair, I curl my hair, I can wash my hair with them in.
"The main thing to be careful of is brushing hair really rough at your roots which you shouldn't do anyway. She said they last about a month but mine have been in all summer. I have around 200 in my hair right now."
The glittery extension strands can be bought online, but it's probably a good idea to have a professional fit them for you in order to achieve the best result.
