The one thing you need to do to your hair while on a sun holiday

Take note if you're going travelling.

Another thing to remember when you’re packing for holidays.

We all know the struggle involved when trying to fit everything you need for a week abroad into one suitcase and now, there’s another essential item on the list.

Not taking care of your hair properly when exposing it to harmful UV rays means you’re likely to end up with dry and frazzled locks by the time you’re back home.

In addition to the sun, chlorine from the pool water can also leave you with hair more akin to a haystack. Not ideal.

The best way to combat this is by using products that will minimise the amount of damage done to your locks.

New York-based stylist Katie Solano recommends using a silicone-based product before going about your business for the day.

This will help to restrict the amount of chlorine your hair absorbs and by using this type of product, you’ll avoid chemicals from absolutely ruining your hair.

However, if you’ve run out of products or have forgotten to bring them with you, there’s a simple solution which you should have to hand.

All you have to do is grab a bottle of water which you’re likely to have to hand anyway given the fact you’re melting away and if not, just use tap water.

This tip applies to everyone but it’s especially important if you have coloured, highlighted or bleached hair.

Oh and just in case you’re struggling with packing, this will show you how to pack a LOT into your suitcase. YAY.
