Luckily, there’s a new technique going viral on TikTok, guaranteeing the perfectly placed, just-messy-enough top knot – every single time.
And having tested it I am happy to say it actually works beautifully.
Quinty Mirjam de Vries recently shared a video to the popular social media platform, showing a sort of a twist and flick hack the creates a very stylish messy bun, that still looks like it won’t crumble when she walks around or moved her head.

@Quintymirjam, who has over 44 million likes on TikTok, demonstrates how she first pulls her hair back into a high ponytail – but instead of pulling hair all the way through, she only pulls it halfway through the hair-tie before twisting the band and flipping her hair over her hand before securing the style.
Impressively, the whole hair hack takes mere seconds.
Tip: If you are trying these on your own hair, do make sure you have a pretty stretchy hair bobbin, as a really small, stiff one won’t work.
