You can save your Shellac manicure in two seconds flat with this super simple trick

YES, there is a god.

Finally.

We’re Shellac obsessives over here and love nothing more than a fresh mani but of course, there’s always the risk of peeling.

This particularly applies if you have weak nails (the bane of our lives) but thankfully, we’ve come across a trick that works wonders when your fresh coat is at risk of chipping off.

As we know, you should never EVER peel off your Shellac, even celebrity manicurists are preaching this, but there is one step you can take.

According to Byrdie, top coat is what’s going to save your manicure until you can get back to the salon to have it sorted by a professional.

You can’t slap it on any old way though, you’ll want to apply a very thin layer over your existing mani and then, this is the important bit, ‘seal in the edge by painting over the tip of the nail’.

This advice comes courtesy of Cherrie Snow, an expert on all things nail-related, so this is one rule we’re going to abide by in future.

Applying hand cream and cuticle oil regularly (we swear by CND Rescue RXx, a keratin treatment that helps prevent peeling) should make a noticeable difference to how long your Shellac lasts too.
