Apple Have Rolled Out An Update To Fix Your Buggy iPhone

Ellen Tannam

Over the last few days since the latest iOS update, many people have complained of a bug causing battery drain, devices to lock up, and links to be completely broken and inaccessible.

The updated version of iOS 9.3.1 is now available through the settings app on your iPhone or iPad, reports the Guardian. The problem was pinned down to third party apps using large lists of URLs within Apple’s Universal links system, causing phones to overload.

For example, if you opened a link from Her.ie within Safari, it would have also opened the app rather than launch the page within Safari, putting extra pressure on the phone’s battery and general OS.

“The size and complexity of the URL list broke the Universal Links system, sending the iPhone or iPad into a constant loop and making all links inoperable across most of the system and with it incurring the wrath of users infuriated by broken phones.”

You can now update to fix this annoying problem.
