Posting an online test with the New York Times designed to deem whether a reader was an optimist or pessimist, the test was generated in a number of fonts with more than 45,000 people answering the rounds online.
The online readers were then asked to read a passage from the book The Beginning of Infinity, and asked to agree or disagree with the statement “we are living in an era of unprecedented safety”.
