Her

If you’re a budding entrepreneur and you haven’t made it along to one of the AIB Start-Up Academy events, this is your chance now to start networking with some of Ireland’s top start-ups.

The hugely successful AIB Start-Up Academy is now in its second year and the next stop of the nationwide tour is in Killarney on Wednesday, October 14.

The event kicks off at 6.30pm in The Killarney Plaza Hotel, so be sure to register here and secure yourself a place at one of Ireland’s best networking events.

Why should you do this? Well, if you’re thinking about starting your own business then you’ll be hearing directly from some incredible Irish entrepreneurs.

First up at the event will be Brian and Rachel Nolan, who own Nobó Ice-cream. Nobó is the world’s first ice cream alternative made from avocado, coconut milk, and sweetened with pure honey and is handmade in Ireland in small batches. Having lived and worked in the Italian restaurant industry, this Dublin-born duo know everything about food and food business.

Also speaking will be Burren Smokehouse’s Birgitta Curtin, who has been honoured by the Irish Food Writers’ Guild for her Irish fish business in Lisdoonvarna. Birgitta’s famed Irish salmon is stocked at high-end outlets such as Harrods and Selfridges. Birgitta is also a Wild Atlantic Way Food Ambassador for Failte Ireland.

Finally, Colm Healy, manager of Skelligs Chocolates, will be offering his expert tips. Despite the Skelligs factory being destroyed by a fire in November 2010, Colm helped rebuild the company, which is now one of the leading food-tourism businesses to be found on the West Coast of Ireland. With 50 per cent of sales occurring online, Colm has experience in both the national and international markets.

As well as receiving some invaluable advice from industry experts, you will get the chance to listen to two budding Irish entrepreneurs who will be sharing their business ideas and valuable experience on the night. The two entrepreneurs are Seamus Tighe of Everest Granola and Ruth Ormiston from Cornude luxury popcorn.
