Irish food company Veronica’s Snacks has secured UK distribution deals with Tesco and Harvey Nichols, as well as launching a range of organic cheese corn snacks in the Ireland and the UK.
The company, founded two years ago, produces healthy snacks including baked crisps which are gluten free, contain 60% less fat than regular crisps hold no trans-fats and are wheat free. The crisps are also lower in salt and have no cholesterol.
Veronica Kenneally, founder and managing director of Veronica’s Snacks said of the development:
“More parents around the country are becoming increasingly concerned about the very high levels of saturated fat that can be found in children’s lunchboxes.
"As a result, retailers and hospitality providers are looking for healthier alternatives to put on shelves and on menus. ‘Crunchy Creatures’ are helping to fill the gap in this market as they are lower in fat, with no trans fats and with fewer calories than regular cheese corn snacks. It’s a healthier option for parents and children alike and a growing category for retailers.”
The new range ‘Crunchy Creatures’ will target the lunchbox and picnic market and has 40% less fat than competing cheese corn snack brands.
