This new Google Calendar update will actually help you achieve your goals

Ellen Tannam

We all have our own little goals, but setting them and achieving them are two different things.

Many of us use Google Calendar, and this handy update looks like it will actually help you read more books, learn a new language or get fitter.

Although there are plenty of goal-setting apps out there, the fact that this one is already connected to one a lot of us already use will make us much more likely to keep it up.

Let’s take for example, setting a goal to work out three times a week.

It seems really easy to set up, according to a blog post on the Google site.

“To set a goal (like “Work out more”), simply answer a few questions (like “How often?” and “Best time?”), and you’re all set. From there Calendar will look at your schedule and find the best windows to pencil in time for that goal.”

A great thing about this update is that it easily allows you to reschedule, doing so automatically if you add an event that is in direct conflict with a goal.

The new goals update will use machine learning to figure out how to work around your schedule, and the more you use, the better it becomes.

Sounds good to us.
