Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his New York City apartment, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Law enforcement officials have said the 46-year-old was found in his bathroom today around 11:15 a.m. by a personal assistant, who then called 911.
Hoffman was recently seen in the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire and had planned to direct Ezekiel Moss – a ghost story set to star Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.
His stand-out roles include Boogie Nights, TheBig Lebowski and Capote for which he won an Oscar in 2005.
The New York Police Department is investigating, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the exact cause of death.
