She’s heartbroken.

Carlos Marín, the late singer from band Il Divo, tragically passed away earlier this week from a battle with Covid-19 and now his ex-wife is paying tribute to the singer.

Carlos had been admitted to Manchester Royal Hospital after falling ill with coronavirus at only 53 before being placed in a medically induced coma.

His former partner Geraldine Larossa, whose stage name is Innocence, has said the performer was the “great love of her life” in a heartbreaking tribute.

Taking to Instagram, she said: “Most people already know but I’ll say it again because I want the whole world to know.

“Carlos Marin has been and will always be the great love of my life. He’s the kindest and most generous person in the world…

“I love you with all my soul. Your goddaughter loves you like mad. I know you are here at my side and at our family’s side but you have left us with an immense hole in our lives.

“I love you my darling. Your voice, your happiness, your affection and your humour is impregnated on my soul.

“You are my great love who has marked the rhythm of my life. I love you.”

According to The Sun, the couple divorced in 2009 after being together for 13 years before splitting up. The couple married in 2006 at Disneyland.

Carlos’ funeral is set to take place in Madrid next week. The singer is reported to have received the Janssen single-dose vaccine earlier this year, but experts now say that this vaccine has significantly weakened in protection.

In a statement shared to Twitter, Il Divo announced his death, saying: “It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away.

“He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There will never be a voice or spirit like Carlos.”

The statement continued: “For 17 years the four of us have been on this incredible journey of Il Divo together, and we will miss our dear friend. We hope and pray that his beautiful soul will rest in peace.”
