Ronaldo thanked fans for their “love and respect” towards his family.
Cristiano Ronaldo and partner Georgina Rodríguez have returned home with their newborn baby girl, days after the devastating loss of their son.
Ronaldo took to Instagram to share an image of the family at home together, showing the new arrival meeting her siblings.
He wrote in the caption: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures. Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family.
“‘Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world.”

Ronaldo and Georgina announced they were expecting twins back in October. Tragically, they lost their son during birth.
“It is the greatest pain that any parents feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram at the time.
“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
After announcing the tragic news, the pair were met with support from football fans around the world.
On Tuesday, Ronaldo missed a match with his team Manchester United, who were playing Liverpool – but the opposing side sang You’ll Never Walk Alone to show solidarity with the striker.
There was also a minute of applause for him, in which fans in the crowd held up Ronaldo jerseys.
Thanking supporters on Instagram, he said he and his family would “never forget this moment of respect and compassion”.
Ronaldo and Georgina have been together for six years and share daughter Alanna Martina, 4. The Manchester United footballer also has an older son, Cristiano Jnr, 11, and twins, Eva and Mateo.
