Curtis Pritchard on why he won’t watch back his season of Love Island

Keeley Ryan

Curtis Pritchard has revealed why he hasn’t watched back any of Love Island since leaving the villa.

The 23-year-old professional dancer admitted he has only seen “the odd little bit” of the show on YouTube – but won’t be watching the full episodes back any time soon.

Curtis, who was in Dublin on Friday to check out Virgin Media’s massive Super Sale, told Her:

“I have watched the odd little bit back on YouTube, like the dancing challenge, or things like that. But no, I haven’t watched full episodes or anything – I haven’t had the time, and I just don’t think I will.

“I think if I had been presenting or dancing, I would watch it back as I would want to improve myself. But if it’s just me being me, I don’t want to watch it.”

The presenter, who was partnered up with Maura Higgins while in the villa, also spoke about how things have been between them since leaving Love Island earlier this year.

He said:

“Things have been incredible with Maura. Everything is fantastic; I couldn’t ask for it to be better. And while we’ve both been pretty busy, we’re spending lots of time together when we can.

“It’s good, though. It turns it into more of a real relationship. In the villa, you spend 24 hours a day together. But on the outside, you’ve got jobs and other things like that – you can’t spend as much time together, and you start to miss each other.

“It turns it into a real, healthy relationship.”

And he admitted he has “something in mind” to ask Maura to be his girlfriend – although, he noted, it’s a secret for now.

He continued:

“I have something in mind – I’m not going to say what, I’m keeping that a secret – but it’s going to be special to Maura. I want it to be special to her, because that’s what matters to me.”

And Curtis, who recently landed a new role on The Greatest Dancer, told Her how he would love to continue to do more presenting in the future – and what his “dream” job would be.

He said:

“My childhood dream was to always be the main star in a film – which I’m hoping to do one day. But I’d also really love to do something with my brother – like maybe be the next Ant and Dec.

“I’ve always been told to dream big, and he’s always been a bit of an idol to me – to work with him would be a dream.”
