'The performance of her career': Meghan's first meeting with the queen sounded intense

Sounds like a New Year’s to remember.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated the new year in style as they jetted off to Monaco to ring in 2018.

The couple tried to remain incognito as they boarded their New Year’s Eve flight to Nice, taking the seats of the very back of the plane.

They then took a short helicopter journey to Monaco, before meeting up with some friends.

But once they got to their final destination, the pair celebrated the arrival of 2018 with some of their closest friends – and it sounds like they had a blast.

According to The Daily Mail, Prince Harry and Meghan were “partying like tycoons” during their celebrations in Monaco.

A source told the publication:

“Monte Carlo is party central at this time of the year and the word is that the British Royals really enjoyed themselves.

“What’s certain is that they were partying like tycoons on New Year’s Day. Fun around Monaco is never understated, and always costs a fortune.”

The pair are said to have tried to keep the trip as low-key as possible after they were spotted on a British Airways flight out to Nice over the weekend.

They flew on to Monaco from there, via a short helicopter journey.

The engaged couple then spent two nights in the area with some of their closest friends, before being seen boarding helicopters to start their journey home on Tuesday morning.

It comes as Meghan celebrated the holiday season, becoming the first fiancée to join the royals for the festivities.

She and Prince Harry are due to get married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19 this year.
