Jessica Chastain is said to be close to signing on for the role of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s upcoming film Blonde.
Produced by Brad Pitt’s company Plan B, the movie is based on the Joyce Carol Oates’ novel of the same name, which reimagines the life of Norma Jean Baker – aka Marilyn Monroe.
The film plans to examine the career and life of the iconic blonde bombshell – and the 37 year old is said to be close to signing a deal to play the lead role.
According to The Wrap, multiple individuals are reporting that Chastain, a two-time Oscar nominee and the star of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Interstellar, is “nearing a deal” to play Monroe.
Chastain co-starred with Brad Pitt in The Tree of Life.
The film is scheduled to begin filming in August.
