Johnny Depp will undergo surgery after injuring his right hand during the filming of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film on Australia’s Gold Coast.
A Disney spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the actor has flown back to the United States for medical attention.
Production will continue down under for the two weeks he is absent so it is not thought that the release date (July 2017) will be affected.
This is the fifth movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in which Johnny plays Captain Jack Sparrow.
