She may be one of the most recognised talents to have emerged in recent years, but singer Lana Del Rey has revealed that she doesn’t enjoy her life, and is tired of being a star.
During an interview with The Guardian, the 27-year old said she’s not only tired of being a star, but is tired of just being alive:
“I wish I was dead already. I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am. That’s just how I feel. If it wasn’t that way, then I wouldn’t say it. I would be scared if I knew [death] was coming, but…”
In the frank interview, the singer went on to say she is confused by the appeal of fame, saying she finds it hard to understand other people’s excitement for her lavish lifestyle:
“Family members will come on the road with me and say: ‘Wow, your life is just like a movie!’ And I’m like: ‘Yeah, a really fucked-up movie.'”
When later asked if she at least enjoyed her rise to fame with the fast-growing popularity of her breakthrough single, ‘Video Games’, the Lana admitted that even that was a bit of a sour note:
“I never felt any of the enjoyment. It was all bad, all of it.”
The singer who has released her second album Ultraviolence this year, admitted earlier this month from that she suffers from a medical difficulties that leaves her feeling ‘really sick a lot of the time”.
