Bonnie Ryan has bravely opened up about her fertility journey
Earlier this week, presenter Bonnie Ryan revealed she was pregnant with her first child, but it wasn't an easy journey for the mum-to-be.
Now halfway through her pregnancy, Bonnie decided to open up about her fertility struggles with the influencer admitting that it felt like her body was letting her down.
She wrote, "This journey hasn’t been easy. After a failed IVF round last year, a really tough period of processing that, then making the hard decision to do our next treatment in Ireland, travelling back and forth, missing John, but knowing we were doing it for the greater good."
"This last summer, my body felt like it was completely letting me down again, virus after virus, pneumonia, exhaustion, and I truly lost trust in it for a while."
Despite the hardships, Bonnie found out she was pregnant.
"Then, somehow, with luck and hope, that test said positive. The first months were filled with worry and felt touch-and-go, so we chose to keep this just ours until we were home in Ireland and could tell our families properly," she explained.
Bonnie said she's never felt love like it when she told her family and friends she was pregnant.
"They knew how much we wanted this and how much I’ve carried over the last while. We’re so excited to begin this next chapter."
Bonnie said she's "still a little fragile talking about it" and is trying her best to stay present, but she hopes that sharing her fertility struggles will help others in similar situations feel less alone.
Bonnie confirmed her pregnancy after Christmas by posting Polaroid photos of her growing bump on Instagram.
"Looks like we made it," she wrote alongside the heartwarming announcement.
"We’ve waited for this moment, and finally here we are, halfway cooked. So much love, gratitude, and excitement for what’s to come."
