The lucky few who had tickets to this year’s Wimbledon men’s final yesterday enjoyed a serious battle of wills between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
However, one famous face missed out on the action after he fell foul of the dress code.
F1 star Lewis Hamilton had earlier taken to Instagram to express his excitement at being invited to watch the game in the Royal Box.
Unfortunately, it’s since been reported by BBC Sport that Hamilton arrived at the game wearing a patterned shirt and hat and was turned away as his outfit was deemed inappropriate.
Guests to the Royal Box have to adhere to a strict dress code, which includes wearing a jacket and tie.
Hamilton later posted a second photo captioned ‘Wimbledon’ to Instagram, in which he is seen in a room with his phone , and his spokesperson has confirmed that “due to a misunderstanding over dress code, he is disappointed to have missed the final”.
