Naomi Campbell says becoming a mother is the “best thing I’ve ever done”

Naomi Campbell has said that deciding to become a mother at the age of 50 is the best thing she has ever done. The supermodel was photographed with her new daughter for the very first time for the March issue of British Vogue and will appear on the cover. "I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her," she told the magazine. "But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done." And up until now, she had kept any news related to her private. The 51-year-old has now confirmed that her child was not adopted, adding: "She’s my child." "She’s a good girl: she sleeps very well, she hardly ever cries and I’m told she’s very alert for her age. She’s just started waving, which is fun. "She laughs a lot. She’s almost talking... I think she might walk before she crawls. And she’s got six teeth already." She revealed she's been encouraging all of her "older" friends to have babies, too.

"I’m telling them all, do it! Don’t hesitate," she said.

"I’m like a kid again. I’m reliving nursery rhymes, playing and discovering how many great new toys there are out there in the world! And dolls! Things I couldn’t even dream of."

When asked about the adjustment to motherhood, she replied: "My daughter comes first. Everything I do, I do for her – that's it. It’s so completely selfless, isn’t it?"
