Orange Is The New Black star Samira Wiley has confirmed she is dating one of the show’s writers, with the couple taking to the red carpet at this year’s Emmy Awards.
The actress, who plays Poussey Washington in the Netflix series, had referenced her relationship with Lauren Morelli in recent months by sharing photos on Instagram but the pair made their first high-profile appearance together at this week’s ceremony.
Lauren previously revealed that she had been in a heterosexual marriage before falling in love on set.
“Mourning the end of my marriage and the identity that I’d known for my entire life, I hadn’t yet stopped to consider that I was now a part of this community,” she said.
“I went through it all on set: I fell in love with a woman, and I watched my life play out on screen. And now, as we are gearing up for the release of season 2, it feels liberating and appropriate to live my life in front of you.”
