Paul Mescal shares anger after being groped by a fan

Just awful.

Paul Mescal has opened up about the anger he felt after he was groped by a fan following a performance in a theatre.

The Oscar nominated actor was outside the Almeida Theatre in north London following a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire when a fan approached him for a photo.

Speaking to ES Magazine, he recalled the incident: “As we posed for it, she put her hand on my ass. I thought it was an accident, so I like (moved away) but the hand followed.

“I remember tensing up and feeling just, like, fury. I turned to her and said, ‘What’re you doing? Take your hand off my ass’.”

He went on to say that “the last thing” he wanted to do was “call somebody out in front of the theatre – it’s uncomfortable for everyone involved – but it was really not okay. It was so gross, creepy”.

Speaking about fame, he added: “97% of it is really nice — then 3% is somebody, like, grabbing your ass.”

Paul recently opened up on his split from fiance Phoebe Bridgers, noting it has been a “difficult” time.

The couple split back in December after rumours that Phoebe was romantically linked to American comedian Bo Burnham.

Paul and Phoebe had reportedly gotten engaged ahead of their split and were rumoured to have bought a house in West Cork together.

Now, Paul has addressed the break up in a new cover interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Being asked if he would ever speak publically about the split, the Maynooth native said: “Maybe at some point. But just not now. It’s just difficult territory. Yeah.”

Paul and Phoebe were both noticeably private when it came to their relationship and rarely made reference to it publically.
