She’s a UFC fighter, model, actress and is set to appear on the latest cover of Sports Illustrated.
To say Ronda Rousey is slowly but surely building up a Hollywood name for herself is an understatement.
As well as being a role model to other women athlete who have to overcome stereotypes, Ronda is pretty confident in her own self.
The 29-year old aims to promote a positive body image – and last night, she showed the importance of knowing when to question the media.
Yesterday, Ronda posted a picture to her Instagram account to promote her appearance on The Tonight Show. So fans were pretty surprised when she decided to share the image a second time just a few hours later.
Posting a caption explaining her actions, Ronda wrote:
“I have to make an apology to everyone – I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller. I won’t say by who – I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions – but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body. And I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me.”
Which is a pretty refreshing message to hear from a famous female role model.
