Iain Stirling has shared a heartbreaking tribute to Caroline Flack, one of his best friends.

Iain and Caroline worked together on popular reality show Love Island and formed a close bond since its launch in 2015.

The popular comedian took to Instagram to post some throwbacks snaps along with a message reflecting on the funeral and how Caroline’s friends and family came together to celebrate her.

He spoke of how he hopes that Caroline knows just how much she was loved and that “her infectious laugh” was notably absent yesterday.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to Caroline. It was a small services filled with her friends and family. The day was spent sharing stories, singing songs and of course some tears were shed. As someone who had the worst FOMO in the world I know Carrie would have hated missing it.

“And her infectious laugh was painfully absent. You were so loved Caz, by so many – I hope you knew that. And I hope you’re now at peace. X”

Caroline took her own life on February 15, a few weeks before she was due to stand trial for common assault in relation to an incident at her London flat last year.

The TV presenter was subjected to intense scrutiny and criticism in the latter part of 2019 and since her death, there has been a huge social media movement encouraging people to “be kind”.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this devastating time.
