Samantha Markle calls Meghan ‘delusionally absurd’ for missing a ‘key detail’ in recent speech

She previously said that she wanted to make peace with her sister.

Meghan Markle's estranged half-sister has called the Duchess of Sussex "delusionally absurd" as she accused her of lying about paying her own university fees. Her  comments come days after Meghan delivered a touching speech in Fiji about how she had used scholarships and financial aide programmes in university. Samantha Markle has claimed in a since-deleted tweet that Meghan's speech was "delusional absurd" [via the Sun] - and that it was in fact their father, Thomas Markle, who had paid for her education. She also tweeted:

“Thomas Markle paid for the little red school house,immaculateb heart and Northwestern University for my sister. Anything that avoids or denies that truth... is a lie. "My sister was able to afford attending the University only because our father paid her tuition completely. "There was no scholarship, no grant, or financial aid program involved. The speech was a lie. "She worked for party money and other things.. our father paid for her education kindergarten Catholic girls high school Northwestern University all of it."

She later added:

"That speech should also acknowledge and inspire parents who love their kids enough to pay for education by thanking our father and including parents who put education first "I am being fair but the burden is not on me to posit truth and the right thing to do. The burden is on the speaker to be fair or accurate and honest when delivering the speech. Omitting the fundamental truth makes a speech worthless "I won’t let my father be insulted and minimized when he has done so much. The burden is on her to respect and be grateful to him. Stop candy coating this. No more lies."

During her speech earlier this week Meghan told the crowds that she was well aware of the "personal feeling of pride and excitement that comes with attending university." She continued:

“I am also fully aware of the challenges of being able to afford this level of schooling for many people around the world – myself included. “It was through scholarships, financial aid programmes and work-study where my earnings from a job on campus went directly towards my tuition – that I was able to attend university. “And, without question, it was worth every effort.”
