We’re delighted Selena Gomez is back on the mend.

Earlier today, the singer announced that she underwent a kidney transplant this summer due to Lupus; an illness she has been suffering from for almost two years now.

In an Instagram post, the Disney star explained how she couldn’t promote her new music because she had to recover from the surgery.

She also sent out a huge thank you to her BFF who donated one of her kidneys to Selena.

Her friend, Francia and the singer have been friends for years, with Sel writing, “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa.

“She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

However, according to sources close to the actress, Francia didn’t have the easiest recovery.

Speaking to TMZ, the insiders said that it was more difficult for the 29-year-old and took her two months to recover.

Apparently, it was harder for The Secret Life of a Teenager star because she is a “health nut” and had to stop exercising for the majority of the summer months.

It is also said that she is now less strenuous than she was before and has a difficult time doing yoga.

However, the source added that she is now fully recovered and is doing well.
