The Queen has a VERY harsh way of telling Kate Middleton she doesn't like her outfits.

Royal protocol is pretty strict when it comes to fashion and according to reports, there are a lot of rules about what they can and can't wear, zero craic for Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle. Nail varnish isn't acceptable, tights are a must and it seems that there are even certain specifications when it comes to handbag size. Yikes. The Queen is believed to have stringent views regarding fashion and sources say that she doesn't hold back when it comes to telling one of the clan that an ensemble isn't up to scratch. One particular royal commentator spoke about the subject recently in conversation with Quest Red. According to Express, Ashley Pearson explained that The Queen, who turns 93 this weekend, sends notes when she doesn't disapprove of a particular piece of clothing.

"The Queen is regularly, allegedly, giving notes if she doesn’t like a certain hem or a certain outfit on Kate, or certain colour tights".

While Meghan has to follow royal protocol to a certain degree, it's very different for Kate Middleton mainly because she is likely to become Queen Consort one day. As Ashley notes, "Meghan and Kate are not on the same page".

"Kate Middleton has a whole other set of rules and restrictions because she’s going to be Queen. She and Meghan are not on the same page".

It's often remarked that Kate's fashion choices are very conservative and some of her outfits have been criticised. However, it may be that the mum of three has to obey royal rules and so, this dictates what ensembles she wears to official engagements, to some degree anyway.
