It’s a girl!

At the end of a week that has been filled with unrelentingly bad news comes the best kind of good news – there’s a new baby on the way!

Vogue Williams and husband Spencer Matthews have announced that they are expecting their second child together.

Vogue teased the announcement in her Instagram stories this afternoon, posting a photo of the couple’s one-year-old son Theodore with the caption “and now for some happy news”.

“Hi everyone, we’re got some very exciting news,” she said as Spencer pointed at her stomach.

The announcement itself was made in an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine, where the couple appeared in a special photoshoot. In the accompanying interview they revealed that Vogue is five-and-a-half months pregnant and that the baby is a girl.

“We’re delighted. It’s so exciting but kind of scary to think we’re going to have another newborn,” Vogue told Hello! “There’s no doubt I feel lucky to be having another baby. It isn’t easy for everyone and it certainly was a different path for us this time, so it’s really nice to be here and talking about it now.”

Adding that they had “a few bumps in the road” while trying to conceive for a second time, Vogue revealed that she had discovered that she has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

“I wouldn’t say alarm bells were going off, but we did wonder how we could make it work a bit more efficiently,” Spencer added.

In the end, the couple say that the pregnancy happened naturally.

They also told the magazine that they already have some potential names in mind for the baby, who will be born in the summer. Spencer said that there’s an “amazing opportunity” to have fun with girls names, and be creative and “a little bit wild even”.

However, Vogue said that the name would not be crazy – and that she wouldn’t be naming her daughter after herself. She does, however, intend to pass her sense of style on to her little girl, saying that she has already bought “an obscene amount of clothes” for the baby.
