13 Reasons Why renewed for season two, Netflix confirms

After a lot of speculation, it’s finally been confirmed – 13 Reasons Why is getting a second season.

Yes, the news was confirmed today after Selena Gomez took to Instagram, saying:

“Their story isn’t over. Season two of 13 Reasons Why is coming.”

Selena, who is an executive producer on the show, shared a video montage of scenes from the Netflix hit and in just 30 minutes, it has already been viewed over one million times.

The show premiered on Netflix back in March and quickly became one of the most talked about shows of this year.


They even broke records with Netflix revealing that the show had over 11 million mentions, a new Twitter record.

While the author of the book, Jay Asher, had hinted at the idea of a season two, there was no real information until now.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Hannah’s story is still very much not finished,” he said. “She’s an integral part of whatever the next chapter of the story is, and she’s very much still at the centre of it.”

Season two will “pick up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker’s death and the start of the characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery.”

Strap in ladies, the emotional rollercoaster is set to continue.
