Jade Hayden

Cancel ya plans, the boys are back.

A while ago, Westlife did us all a favour and announced that they were coming back armed with a load of tour dates and some new hot tracks.

It was an exciting time, it was an emotional time, it was a time that will forever be etched in our brains as the period where for a brief instance, the world was OK again.

And it’s about to get even more OK because the lads have confirmed when exactly they’re going to perform their new single for the first time.

Oh, and there’ll also be dropping an album too.

Hold us.

Nicky Byrne confirmed the news on Instagram, stating that Westlife will be dropping their first album in eight years some time next year.

He also added that they will be performing their brand new single on The Graham Norton Show on January 11.

On IG, he wrote:

“Here we go again! (microphone emoji)

“Having just announced two Cardiff dates that brings the Twenty Tour to 32 shows so far next summer in Ireland/UK, A brand new album after 8years coming in 2019!

“But it all kicks off on The Graham Norton Show January 11th with our brand new single.”

Earlier this year, the lads confirmed that they had enlisted the help of Ed Sheeran to write some of their new music, including their new single.

They also said that fans were going to be “taken aback” by the new music.

Nicky said:

“The nostalgia is brilliant but this is about coming back and making a statement (…) It’s about becoming a band again.

“We can never be a tribute to our former selves.”
