They will be missed.

Gogglebox viewers were devastated by the deaths of some of their on-screen favourites over the last year.

And several of the cast has announced that they won’t be making a return to the hit series following their loved one’s passing.

A total of five stars of the show have refused to let cameras back into their homes after losing people they once filmed the series with, according to Channel 4.

After each losing someone close to them, Linda McGarry, Carolyne, Alex and Louis Michael and Marina Wingrove have all announced that they will not be coming back.

Passing away in June of this year after a short illness, Pete McGarry’s death was a shock to fans and his wife Linda won’t be coming back. The couple and their son George had appeared on the show since 2013.

Andrew Michael sadly passed away in August and like the McGarrys, his wife Carolyne and children Alex and Louis have said they will not be returning.

News broke of Mary Cook also passing away last month and while she didn’t film with family, her best friend and Gogglebox partner Marina Wingrove has also stepped away from the show.

“We have had people from the show pass away recently,” Gogglebox’s executive producer Victoria Ray told The Daily Star. “We lost Mary and Andy. And a little while ago we lost Pete.

“Their loved ones won’t be taking part in the show for the moment. Understandably, they want their privacy.”

Channel 4 have given each loved one a chance to come back to the series at a later date, leaving the door open for them if that is something they wish to do.

Giving a statement on the families’ choice to step back, a Channel 4 representative said: “It’s a massive loss in every way. We feel it too.

“We are still in touch with all the loved ones. We talk to them all the time. They are still part of the Gogglebox family.”

The most recent episode of the series was dedicated to Andrew and Mary after they sadly died.
