5 key reasons why we have all fallen deeply in love with Dr Alex

The doctor will see you now.

… Or he won’t, because he’s a bit awkward and lacking in confidence so he might wait a few days or weeks before making his move.

You know yourself.

This series of Love Island has brought us a lot of different things – someone who was in Dream Girls, a lad who sells pens, and the knowledge that Eyal is the worst person on the planet.

It’s also brought us the one, the only, the widely adored, Dr Alex.

Alex is lovely, but he just isn’t getting anywhere with any of the girls. He’s sweet but everyone just sees him as a mate. He’s hot but he goes a bit pink sometimes and that’s not really his fault.

At the end of the day though, we just don’t know what’s going to happen with everyone’s favourite doctor.

Does he continue to be an adorable little pet who is loved by viewers, eventually biding his time until he finds the love of his life and wins the entire show because he is so lovely?

Or will his painfully nice demeanour be his downfall, allowing the other lads to steal all the women, leaving him alone?

Right now, we don’t know.

But what we do know is there are a few things about Dr Alex that have made us fall deeply and irrevocably in love with him.

This is them.

1. He is loyal

You won’t find a more loyal lad than Dr Alex in your life time – this is a fact.

He’s been rejected, he’s been sneered at by Samira when she realises she has to pick him, and he’s been absolutely betrayed by the villa’s largest resident snake, Eyal.

And yet, Alex has remained loyal to his mates and his couple.

He didn’t turn on Samira and go for someone else just because she wasn’t interested romantically. He still called Eyal his friend even after the snake ruined his entire life.

He’s just a good guy… and we love him for it.

2. He is so awkward but it’s still cute

There is an optimum level of sheer awkwardness acceptable in today’s day and age and Alex has settled there perfectly.

He’s awkward but not so much so that you can’t speak to him.

He’s doesn’t really know how to approach women for a chat but he’s getting there and we have absolute faith in him.

He cannot and should not ever say the word ‘peng’ again, no matter how delighted he is to have been called so.

So cute.

3. All of his shirts match his skin tone perfectly

4. HE’S A DOCTOR

A DOCTOR. A LITERAL DOCTOR.

And still, no one in that villa is interested in him.

What is wrong with them? Do they not appreciate a man who has saved actual lives with his real-life hands? Do they prefer some lad who uses all his pen money to buy giant teeth?

5. He is amazing at star jumps

Amazing.

We’ve never seen anything like skill akin to this.
