When it comes to Netflix picks, you shouldn’t underestimate the documentaries. The site has compiled a whole host of incredible docs that are everything from entertaining, to shocking, to heartbreaking.

However, as with the movies, you can sometimes become overwhelmed by choice and veer back into your ‘Continue Watching’ list.

Well, in a bid to make the choice easier, we’ve narrowed down some of the most recent additions to the site that we think are worth a watch.

Here are five you should consider.

1. One of Us

Plot: In the wake of trauma and abuse, three Hasidic Jews face ostracism, anxiety and danger as they attempt to leave their ultra-Orthodox community.

 

2. Expedition Happiness

Plot: A filmmaker and his musician girlfriend attempt an epic road trip with their dog, travelling across North America in a refurbished school bus.

 

3. Seeing Allred

Plot: As a lawyer, her mission is simple: to help her clients evolve from victims to survivors to fearless fighters for change.

 

4. 42 Grams

Plot: After launching a succesful underground restaurant out of their apartment, an ambitious chef and his wife open an all-consuming upscale eatery.

 

5. Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards

Plot: As legendary shoe designer Manolo Blahnik speaks about his creative process, his celebrity admirers chime in with their own takes on his work.
