5 shows to watch on Netflix this weekend

There are some great new shows on Netflix this weekend, some of which just arrived today and in the last few days. Orange is the New Black fans will be happy to know it has finally returned for a fifth season and our very own Ruth Kearney also stars in a new release.

Here are the options for you to watch:

 Orange is the New Black season 5

Jenji Kohan’s critically acclaimed program will continue to touch on timely and relevant social themes that drive daily headlines and remind us why it’s in its fifth season,

Based on the best-selling memoir by Piper Kerman, the newest season of Orange delves into the racial and economic tensions that run rampant in the halls of Litchfield.

Flaked: Season 2

Chip returns to Venice after a short exile and finds that he is persona non grata. No store, no friends, not even a guest house to live in, it’s a long road back to the way things were.

Shimmer Lake

Unfolding in reverse time, this darkly comic crime thriller follows a local sheriff hunting three bank robbery suspects, one of whom is his brother.  Stars Benjamin Walker, Rainn Wilson, Stephanie Sigman and Ron Livingston.

House of Cards – Season 5

The fifth season of the critically acclaimed drama House of Cards is now available on Netflix.  The series stars Kevin Spacey (as Francis Underwood) and Robin Wright (as Claire Underwood), whose characters have always been each other’s strongest allies, show cracks in their relationship. 

House of Cards also stars Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Neve Campbell, Derek Cecil, Paul Sparks, Joel Kinnaman and Irish actress Dominique McElligott. 

Orphan Black: season 5 (You’ll have to wait until June 11 for this one)

In the final season, Sarah and her sisters scramble to protect Kira from Neolutionists and unravel a mystery that stretches back more than a century.  tars Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kristian Bruun, Josh Vokey, Evelyne Brochu, Ari Millen.
