Orlaith Condon

It’s nearly here!

With rainbow flags popping up everywhere across the city, we’re nearly ready for the explosion of colour and love that is Dublin Pride.

Yes, with a busy weekend of events ahead and the parade, of course, it’ll be hard to fit it all in.

However, if you’re not able to get involved in the fun this weekend, there’s enough on Netflix to have you feeling proud.

Here are five titles that are flying the LGBTQ+ flag.

1. One Day at a Time

Plot: In a reimagining of the TV classic, a newly single Latina mother raises her teen daughter and tween son with the “help” of her old-school mom.

2. Grace and Frankie

Plot: They’re not friends, but when their husbands leave them for each other, proper Grace and eccentric Frankie begin to bond in this Emmy-nominated series.

3. Master of None

Plot: Dev tries to jump-start his acting career and elevate his dating game with help from his eclectic group of friends in this award-winning series.

4. Alex Strangelove

Plot: In the new Netflix original film, a high school senior questions his relationship to his best friend and girlfriend after meeting a boy that causes him to rethink his sexuality.

5. Queer Eye

Plot: Grab some tissues! An all-new Fab Five serve up hip tips, emotionally charged makeovers and heartfelt reveals that bring out all the feels.
