There are some gems here.
With the weather having picked up a little today, it would be no surprise if you’re out and about enjoying the last of the weekend.
But if you’re staying in, then we’ve got some films on the TV for you to check out:
The Mummy – ITV2 – 4.25pm
Not the Tom Cruise one, the good one with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. Still a lot of fun, and the special effects still mostly hold up pretty great 20 years later.
Mrs. Doubtfire – E4 – 6.30pm
The late, great Robin Williams must go full old-lady-drag in order to keep in contact with his kids. Released in 1993, this was the second biggest box office hit of the year, behind only Jurassic Park!
Mamma Mia! Sing-along – ITV2 – 6.45pm
Yep, you can sing-along with this version! There was nothing really stopping you from doing that anyways, unless you didn’t know the lyrics. Thankfully, this version will show them on-screen for you. Problem solved!
Wanted – Syfy – 9.00pm
James McAvoy discovers that he is the son of a master assassin and that he also has the supernatural ability to slow time and bend bullets and potentially become a world-class assassin himself. Angelina Jolie is his sorta-trainer, who is having more fun in this that should be allowed on a workday.
Three Kings – TV3 – 9.00pm
George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube head out into the Iraqi desert to attempt to find Saddam’s hidden gold before all the U.S. soldiers are brought back home. An action-comedy with some seriously dark leanings.
Bad Boys – Comedy Central – 10.00pm
Michael Bay’s first ever movie, before he started putting giant robots on giant robot dinosaurs, and it is still one of his best all of these years later. It is no The Rock, but it is pretty damned close.
The Purge – Film 4 – 10.55pm
Before you go see The First Purge (our written review here), you should check out the first Purge, with Ethan Hawke and Cersei Lannister holed up in their home, attempting to survive the night.
