Former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson has landed a role in Emmerdale.
According to the ITV website the actress will play Carly, the estranged daughter of Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).
But while he might be happy to have a family member nearby, her arrival will cause problems for Bob and his partner Brenda.
Gemma, who played Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks, is due to start filming later this month and will appear on the small screen from March.
Speaking about starring in the show, she said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for Carly.”
She added: “I hope you all enjoy watching her story unfold.”
