It may not be the reboot some fans were hoping for, but an exciting new Gilmore Girls project is in the works.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that a documentary about Gilmore Girls is in the works.
Searching For Stars Hollow will mark the show's 25th anniversary and will feature some of the show's biggest stars.
The Ink On Paper Studios documentary will examine "the beloved show’s role in American cultural history."
Kelly Bishop, who played Emily Gilmore, is set to appear in the documentary, but fans were disappointed to see that lead actresses Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel would not be appearing.
It will also include never-before-seen interviews with cast members, including Kelly Bishop and Chad Michael Murray.
Jared Padalecki, Keiko Agena, and Sally Struthers will also feature.
Director Jamie Babbit, writer Stan Zimmerman, and casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey are taking part.
Kevin T Porter, host of the Gilmore Guys podcast, will also be interviewed.
The documentary will also include behind-the-scenes stories from the cast and crew.
Speaking about the project, producer Jim Demonakos said:
"Searching For Stars Hollow will reveal how Gilmore Girls came to life, why it continues to resonate across generations, and how its unique blend of humor, heart, and pop culture shaped a devoted worldwide fan community with an in-depth look at its creation and the connections it continues to foster.
"This documentary is for fans of the show but also for anyone with an interest in cultural history and how it affects individual lives."
An air date for Searching For Stars Hollow has not yet been confirmed.
