Lick Events will be taking over the Ritz nightclub on May 7 for its women-only night.

The company say that their nights are "for women, by women" and have a strict "no men allowed" policy.

The idea is that women and trans people are given a space where they can party safely. The no men allowed nights have been running for a while now, with the first ones taking place in London's Vauxhall district in 2019.

Lick nights are also scheduled to take place in at Concorde 2 in Brighton (April 30) and The Mill in Birmingham (May 6).

The lineup for the Manchester event will include DJ sets from Monique B, Janelle Wynter and Miller Black.

The company shared a TikTok showing what one of their nights is like, which has since racked up 1.1m views and more than 234,000 likes.

One person commented: "You know how I know this works? Because it would never work if it was an all men bar. Men go on the pull. Girls go to have fun."

Another wrote: "I am a middle aged het [heterosexual] man and love this. Women partying with women will be a fun atmosphere."

"It's like all the drunken love in women's bathroom in a club - but it's the whole club!" a third added.

Several others voiced their love for the idea, with one person from the Netherlands saying they would love a similar night there and to have a "night out without being harassed."
