Brad Pitt will not be prosecuted.

After news broke that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had filed for divorce over ‘irreconcilable differences’ a number of other stories followed. One of the bigger ones was that Brad was reportedly being investigated over child abuse allegations.

TMZ first reported that he was under investigation by the LAPD and L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services for “allegedly getting verbally abusive and physical with his children” and that this was the reason for Angelina filing for divorce.

The allegations were being brought against Brad following a family flight. TMZ reported that Brad was drinking on the flight and later went “wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids”.

Then it was later reported that it was actually the FBI who were looking into the case which involved an alleged altercation with their son Maddox.

But now it has transpired that the FBI will not be prosecuting Brad Pitt because they say there was no case to begin with. They are still gathering information but are not calling it an investigation, according to TMZ.

Sources confirmed that no investigation happened and added that the agency should never have been involved in the first place.
