Angelina and Brad have spoken for the first time since their split

It's said to be a "significant step".

Ever since they announced their split in September, Angelina and Brad Pitt haven't spoken to each other. Instead, they've been communicating through their solicitors, even throughout the child abuse claims made against Brad. Now, after six months, they have begun to talk, a recommendation that came from the children's therapist. An insider told E! News:

"They recently started talking again and it's a significant step. Up until now everything was through lawyers and assistants. They did not speak at all after the plane incident and everything that went down in the press. "They are focused on the kids and taking small steps to mend what has happened. Right now they are only speaking about the kids and their schedules, but it's a positive step."

They also added:

"Brad hopes that they can be successful at co-parenting and get to a place where they can be friendly. They both have agreed to put the kids first."
