Ant and Dec earned a crazy amount of money in 2016

You might need to sit down for this.

Christ on a bike.

We’d assumed that you could stand to make a decent living out of being a television presenter, but this is nuts.

It’s been revealed that And and Dec earned a staggering £79,000 per day last year.

Yes, per day. That’s equivalent to over €90,000, just FYI.

According to figures obtained by the Sun, the lads pocketed £29.5 million last year, working out at around £79,000 each day in 2016.

Now, that is between them so it’s actually around £40,000 each, but still. You wouldn’t turn your nose up at it – it’s more than many people earn in an entire year.

Their fortune comes from their two joint companies, Hurley Promotions and Mitre Productions, and  two individually-owned companies, Deecourt and Teecourt.

The two Geordies have come a long way since their Byker Grove days – they got their big break playing PJ and Duncan in the BBC kid’s drama in the nineties.

They’ve been on our tellies since then and have been with ITV for almost two decades, presenting shows such as I’m A Celebrity, Britain’s Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway.

They recently signed a £30 million deal with ITV, tying them to the channel until 2019.
