Experts at security firm Sophos have found that 22 apps available on Android phones are a source of 'clickfraud'.
22 apps that can be found on the Google Play Store have a background function that opens ads in your browser without you knowing.
According to The Sun, an expert said: "From the user’s perspective, these apps drain their phone’s battery and may cause data overages as the apps are constantly running and communicating with servers in the background."
So in other words, you're completely oblivious to what's going on.
The 22 apps found to be fraudulent (but have still been downloaded millions of times are:
Sparkle FlashLight
Snake Attack
Math Solver
ShapeSorter
Tak A Trip
Magnifeye
Join Up
Zombie Killer
Space Rocket
Neon Pong
Just Flashlight
Table Soccer
Cliff Diver
Box Stack
Jelly Slice
AK Blackjack
Color Tiles
Animal Match
Roulette Mania
HexaFall
HexaBlocks
PairZap
If you have any of these apps on your phone, we'd delete immediately.
