Badass Corrie fan favourite to return to the cobbles and absolutely shake things up

It seems like every day that a Corrie fan favourite returns to the cobbles, doesn't it? That's because they do. Those writers aren't stupid lads, they know everyone's a sucker for a bit of nostalgia. In this case though, the character who's returning isn't someone from the Corrie golden age like Martin Platt. Or even someone from the Corrie OG days like Jim McDonald. Nah, this is someone more recent and yet, the same level of iconic. Get yourself excited because it's none other than the one, the only...  DS MacKinnon. Y A S. You might remember MacKinnon from 2016 when she showed up to investigate Caz Hammond's disappearance and sent Maria to jail for a bit. The detective then reappeared a year later to have a look into Ken Barlow's attempted murder, wrongfully suspecting Pat Phelan before, you know, all that stuff was kicking off. MacKinnon left without arresting anybody, leaving her with a less than desirable track record as a detective, but she's set to come back this year and we are living. According to The Sun, Sandra Huggett, who plays MacKinnon, has already started filming a string of new episodes for the soap. This could either mean that she's going to be looking into the Ken issue again... or she'll be investigating an entirely different crime. Never a dull moment, anyway.
