Ben Stiller apparently turned down the chance to direct Good Will Hunting because it starred two unknown actors.

The two ‘unknowns’ later turned out to be Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and the Zoolander star revealed that if he could change one thing about his career it would be that.

“I remember my agent sent me the script for Good Will Hunting to direct,” he explained to Vulture.com. “And I was like, ‘Who are these guys, Affleck and Damon? And why are they attached to this project? No, thank you!’

“I mean, maybe I’d change that,” he admitted.

Indeed Good Will Hunting earned two Oscars for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Robin Williams), while director Gus Van Sant also received a nomination for Best Director.
