Beyoncé welcomed her twins earlier this month and we’ve been eagerly awaiting word from her ever since.

Last night, the singer broke her silence, in a way, with her first statement since the birth of her twins, and it came in the form of an acceptance speech at the BET Awards.

Queen Bey won the BET Viewers’ Choice Award for her song Sorry, and while the mum-of-three wasn’t actually in attendance, she did write a speech for the event and had Chloe x Halle, singers on her own label, accept the award on her behalf.

The speech read:

“Thank you, BET, for this award and you tremendous support of Lemonade. This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honouring the past and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve.

“Thank you to my mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence.

“Thank you to my entire family for so much love.

“To my team at Parkwood, thank you.

“And thanks to all the fans, my Bey Hive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you.”
