She's been dodging the spotlight for much of the year but Beyoncé finally made her return to TV last night.
She appeared on Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief on US television last night to make a public appeal for donations for those affected by the recent natural disasters along the southern US coast.
In a short pre-recorded segment, she wasted no time in getting a dig in at the current political climate in the states.
"During a time where it's impossible to watch the news without seeing violence or racism in this country, just when you think it couldn't possibly get worse, natural disasters take precious life, do massive damage, and forever change lives," she said.
She called on those watching to give what they could to help with the relief effort.
