When will you be happy, Al?

Our patience with Dr Alex had been wearing thin for a while and it pretty much ran out last night when he hastily recoupled with Alexandra on Love Island. Just the other night, he caused Alexandra to shed tears when he told her he didn't want to be exclusive with her as new Laura had turned his head on her arrival into the villa. It became clear that he'd made a woeful mistake in distancing Alexandra when Laura grew closer to new Jack. The Dr chose to start things up with Alexandra once again on last night's episode and tonight he sees that they can't just turn it back on as a couple. After the recoupling, he apologises to her and does his best to reassure her but she insists that she's not ready to talk yet. “I just don’t really want to talk about it," she tells him. "Just in general I don’t feel ready to talk. I’ll be OK, I just need to let things settle in my mind for a sec. So I can think about how I feel and talk to you properly.” Alex is somehow put out that she wants a bit of space. Men, eh? "It’s a bit disappointing, I kind of put myself out there and in front of everyone I tried to say that I’d like to give things another try," he says in the Beach Hut. "I don’t know where her head’s at now with things. Maybe this is a way of her saying she’s not interested, I’m not sure.” Speaking with Jack and Dani, Alex admits he thought she'd be happier with his decision. "Did you notice when she sat down with me, how grumpy? She was so p***** off. I still stand by the decision I made a few days ago, I’m sad that things spiralled how they did and how things broke up and I genuinely meant what I said that I would be open to seeing if we could rekindle things, but I thought she might be a little bit happier.” Lord give us strength. Fortunately for him, there does appear to be some hope as Alexandra warms up once again when he tries a little role play the next day.
